Reaper is a powerful, affordable open source audio editing tool on par with ProTools but without the high cost and training barrier.

In this workshop, we’ll take a look at Reaper DAW specifically for creating short-form documentary audio projects. We’ll take a look at some examples of good work, and talk about the general workflow for a project. We’ll learn basics of conducting an audio interview using mobile recording tech and microphones, as well as live recording straight into the computer and the workflow for building a story from your material.

Required Materials: PC or Mac computer with a trial version of Reaper installed.
