Dr. Hanes teaches biostatistics and research methodology at the
National University of Natural Medicine and is the research
biostatistician at the Helfgott Research Institute.
joining NUNM, he spent three years as an Assistant Professor of
mathematics at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, then six
years as Research Associate at the Legacy Clinical Research and
Technology Center in Portland, Oregon, where he worked on studies
addressing the vestibular system, balance, and mobility. He completed a
Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Hanes has worked with clinical trial data as well as survey and population data; he is especially interested in the "meta" questions of data analysis: what is the right way to gather data and use it to answer questions, and just how much faith can one put in the results?
