Geometer. Steampunk. Teacher.
A fascination with geometry has led me to (among other places) computing: photorealism, graphics programming for CAD, calculating DNA bends, a foot scanner, making woven Penrose tilings. And to sculpture: lacy mathematical glass sculptures shown in galleries and a couple of museums. And to video: the animated short "Gnatural Wonders" shown (in 3D with the red-blue glasses) at local and national film festivals.
Throughout I remain devoted to pre-electronic technology, especially the kinetic. And throughout: delight in sharing math and physics as lenses for thinking about natural phenomena, social concerns, daily life.
